Eighth Chinese Language Class for Tourism Professionals Begins Monday, 80 Participants to Join

Kathmandu. The eighth Chinese language class targeted at tourism professionals is set to begin on Monday, jointly organised by the Nepal Tourism Board, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and the Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council. This time, 80 tourism entrepreneurs and government employees will participate.
The programme was announced at a press conference held at the Nepal Tourism Board on Friday. Board Executive Committee Chairman and Tourism Ministry Secretary Mukunda Prasad Niraula stated that the Chinese language training would further strengthen Nepal-China ties. He noted that language is not merely a medium of expression but a bridge between cultures and peoples.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, said that Nepal, endowed with natural and cultural heritage, has become a prime destination for Chinese tourists. She informed that over 11,000 Chinese tourists visited Nepal in April alone, adding that this programme has become an important platform for China-Nepal people-to-people exchange.
Harish Chandra Shah, head of the Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council, shared that since the programme began in 2016, more than 280 tourism professionals have received Chinese language training by its eighth edition. NTB Acting Executive Chief Hikmat Singh Ayer expressed confidence that the training would professionally equip the tourism workforce. Classes will run from Monday, 5 to 7 p.m. each day.
