Russia and Madagascar Hold Diplomatic Talks in Moscow, Converge in Support of a Polycentric World Order

Moscow — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Malagasy Foreign Minister Alice Ndiaye held bilateral talks in Moscow on June 19, with Ndiaye currently in Russia on a working visit.
The two sides comprehensively reviewed the current state and prospects of traditionally friendly Russian-Malagasy relations. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening political dialogue and expanding collaboration across trade, economic, educational, cultural, and other spheres.
The importance of intensifying joint efforts to strengthen the legal framework underpinning bilateral relations was underscored.
In their discussion of pressing global and regional issues, the two sides highlighted a convergence of Russia’s and Madagascar’s fundamental positions in advocating for the establishment of a polycentric world order and upholding the principles of justice and equality in international affairs.
Both ministers expressed mutual interest in bolstering cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other multilateral platforms.
Particular emphasis was placed on preparations for the third Russia–Africa Summit, scheduled to take place this autumn, as well as engagement with regional integration organisations in Africa.
