Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City is preparing to create a municipal anthem that reflects the city’s social, cultural, geographical, religious, historical and industrial identity, along with its distinctive local characteristics.

The sub-metropolitan authority has invited interested writers and creators to submit compositions for the anthem.

Municipal spokesperson Sabin Neupane said the anthem is intended to present Hetauda’s own identity by incorporating its history, culture, geography, economic activities and industrial character. He said submitted works should clearly reflect the city’s local originality and distinctive features.

Mayor Mina Kumari Lama said the municipality wants to develop the anthem as a creative expression representing Hetauda’s overall identity and collective spirit.

According to her, the anthem will seek to incorporate the city’s history, natural environment, culture, social diversity and industrial profile. She said broad participation by writers and creators would be important in selecting the strongest composition.

The municipality said the remaining procedures for preparing the anthem will be carried out in accordance with the “Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Tourism Year 2083 Logo and Municipal Anthem Development Procedure, 2083.”

The initiative comes as Hetauda prepares to observe “Hetauda Tourism Year” during the current fiscal year 2083/84 and launch various promotional campaigns aimed at strengthening the city’s distinct identity.

The municipal anthem is expected to become one of those cultural tools, presenting Hetauda’s history, diversity, natural character and industrial heritage as elements of a shared civic identity.
