The Embassy of India in Belgrade has joined the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of India’s Independence Day celebrations.
Led by Ambassador Abhishek Shukla, the embassy has encouraged members of the Indian community across Serbia to participate in the celebrations by proudly displaying the Indian national flag, the Tiranga.
The embassy described the Tricolour as a symbol of national unity, pride and patriotism, and called on Indian citizens and community members in Serbia to hoist the flag at their homes and other appropriate places.
India is set to celebrate its 80th Independence Day on August 15. The Indian Embassy in Belgrade is also preparing to hold an official Independence Day program on Saturday.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a public participation initiative led by India’s Ministry of Culture. It encourages citizens to display the national flag at their homes during Independence Day celebrations and strengthen their connection with the values of national unity and freedom.
Alongside government institutions within India, Indian embassies and diplomatic missions abroad have also been extending the campaign to overseas Indian communities.
The initiative by the embassy in Belgrade is being seen as part of wider efforts to involve the Indian community in Serbia in the country’s Independence Day celebrations.
