Bhote Koshi Flood Death Toll Reaches 157, Identities of 47 Victims Still Unknown

The death toll from the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa has reached 157, according to the latest information provided by Nepal Police.

Police said the confirmed victims include 34 women, 63 men, six girls and seven boys. The identities of 47 other victims have yet to be established.

According to police, three male bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa. In Nuwakot, the bodies of six women and seven men have been found.

In Dhading, authorities have recovered the bodies of 10 women, 10 men and one girl. Six additional bodies found in the district have not yet been identified, bringing the district’s total to 27.

In Gorkha, the bodies of two women, eight men and one boy have been recovered, while eight other victims remain unidentified. The total number of bodies recovered in the district stands at 19.

Chitwan has recorded the highest number of recovered bodies so far, with 64. These include 13 women, 18 men, one girl and four boys. The identities of 28 additional victims recovered in the district have yet to be confirmed.

In Tanahun, authorities have found the bodies of one woman, five men, one girl and one boy, while one additional body remains unidentified. The total number of bodies recovered there is nine.

Similarly, in Nawalparasi East, the bodies of two women, 12 men, three girls and one boy have been recovered. Four additional victims remain unidentified, bringing the district’s total to 22.

According to the available figures, three bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 13 in Nuwakot, 27 in Dhading, 19 in Gorkha, 64 in Chitwan, nine in Tanahun and 22 in Nawalparasi East.

Identification of the victims and search and rescue operations in flood-affected areas are continuing.
