China Successfully Launches Zhuque-2E Y7 Rocket, Deploys 10 Satellites

China successfully launched a Zhuque-2E Y7 carrier rocket on Tuesday from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone in northwest China, placing 10 networking satellites into their designated orbits.

The rocket lifted off at 2:26 p.m. Beijing Time. Following the launch, all 10 satellites carried by the rocket were successfully deployed into their preset orbits, and the flight test mission was declared a complete success.

The Zhuque series has become an important part of China’s rapidly expanding commercial space sector. In recent years, China has accelerated the development of private and commercial space activities alongside its traditional state-led space programme, with growing emphasis on next-generation launch vehicles, satellite manufacturing, large-scale satellite networks and more frequent commercial launches.

The ability to deploy multiple satellites in a single mission is particularly important for the rapid construction of large satellite constellations. Such networks can support communications, data transmission, Earth observation and a wide range of space-based services. Tuesday’s successful mission further demonstrated China’s growing capability in commercial launch operations and constellation deployment.

The Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone is emerging as an important hub for China’s commercial space activities. The facility supports testing and launching of new-generation rockets and satellites and is expected to contribute to the expansion of the country’s space infrastructure and commercial aerospace industry.

The successful Zhuque-2E Y7 mission further strengthens China’s capacity for regular multi-satellite launches required for large-scale constellation development. It also reflects the accelerating industrialisation of China’s space technologies and the country’s broader push to expand commercial launch services and next-generation satellite infrastructure.
