Iran’s army says it shot down a US MQ-9 drone over Qeshm Island in the country’s south. The Tasnim news agency reported that advanced systems operating within Iran’s integrated air defence network targeted and destroyed the drone.

Tasnim, citing an army statement, described the aircraft as belonging to the “aggressor United States.” No immediate response from the US was reported.
