Madhesh Province Hands Over 12 Pickup Vehicles to Nepal Police, Plans 70 Motorcycles

The Ministry of Home, Communications and Law of Madhesh Province has handed over 12 pickup vehicles to Nepal Police.

The vehicles were distributed at a program held in Janakpurdham on Monday. One pickup was allocated to each of the province’s eight districts, with an additional vehicle for Sarlahi and one each for the Area Police Offices in Chandrapur and Garuda of Rautahat.

Home, Communications and Law Minister Fakira Mahato said maintaining peace and security and protecting the lives and property of citizens remain priorities of the provincial government. He said the government would continue supporting police capacity-building and strengthening essential resources.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Om Prasad Adhikari said the vehicles and other resources provided by the provincial government would help improve police effectiveness in maintaining law and order.

According to the ministry, the total cost of the 12 pickup vehicles, including value-added tax, is Rs 46.86 million.

The ministry is also preparing to hand over 70 motorcycles in the coming days to make police patrols and field deployment more effective.

Home, Communications and Law Ministry Secretary Dr. Bindeshwar Prasad Lekhak, along with ministry and police officials, attended the handover program.
