Nepal and Namibia Establish Diplomatic Relations

Nepal and Namibia have formally established diplomatic relations, bringing the number of countries with which Nepal has diplomatic ties to 187.

Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, signed a joint communiqué at UN headquarters in New York during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Before the signing, the two ministers discussed matters of mutual interest. The Namibian side expressed sympathy for the loss of life and property caused by the recent disaster in Nepal.

Both sides expressed their commitment to exploring opportunities for bilateral cooperation and working more closely on shared priorities in international forums.
