Russian and Malian Defense Officials Discuss Military Cooperation

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Vasily Osmakov met with Malian Defense Minister-Delegate General Omar Diarra to discuss prospects for military cooperation.

During the meeting, held as part of preparations for the third Russia-Africa Summit, the two sides reviewed current cooperation in the defense sector and discussed opportunities for further engagement, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry said the meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and reflected the friendly nature of relations between Russia and Mali.
