Russian forces launched a large overnight attack on military-industrial and transport facilities in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, a logistics center in the Kharkiv region and a cargo vessel carrying supplies for the Ukrainian military, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The ministry said the attack used precision-guided ground-based weapons and unmanned aircraft. It claimed the targets included facilities producing and storing long- and medium-range missiles and unmanned aircraft. A workshop operated by Oakline in Kyiv was also hit, the ministry said. It claimed the workshop assembled and stored long- and medium-range unmanned aircraft made by Fire Point.
The ministry also said Russian forces struck Kyiv’s Southern Road and Rail Bridge, which it described as a route for transporting military supplies by road and rail. A cargo handling and customs center in the Kharkiv region was also targeted. The ministry claimed the facility stored and distributed supplies for the Ukrainian military, dual-use goods and unmanned aircraft.
The Russian Defense Ministry further said a cargo vessel carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces toward the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region was struck at sea. The Russian claims about the military targets and the vessel have not been independently verified.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the Southern Bridge was damaged, along with nearby metro infrastructure. City authorities said traffic across the bridge was halted and some metro services were temporarily suspended.
