Aba Prefecture’s Potential Showcased in New Zealand

Auckland. A special promotional event highlighting the tourism, culture, ecology and investment potential of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in China’s Sichuan Province has been successfully held in Auckland, New Zealand.
The resource promotion and cooperation event, held under the theme “World-Famous Jiuzhaigou, Beautiful Aba in New Zealand,” brought together more than 80 representatives from the Auckland city government, New Zealand’s livestock management sector, the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, cross-border tourism associations and well-known enterprises.
Addressing the programme, Luo Zhenhua, Deputy Secretary of the Aba Prefecture Party Committee and Governor of the Prefecture, delivered a welcome speech and expressed gratitude to the guests and representatives from various sectors in New Zealand. He also thanked New Zealand friends who have shown interest in and support for Aba’s development.

According to Luo, Aba Prefecture and New Zealand share many similarities and broad opportunities for cooperation in areas such as ecological protection, cultural heritage preservation, tourism promotion and industrial development. He expressed hope that cooperation in culture-tourism integration, trade exchanges and investment would become deeper and more practical in the days ahead.
During the event, the Aba delegation gave a presentation under the theme “Friendly Panda, Hospitable Aba,” introducing the region’s natural beauty, cultural diversity and development opportunities. The presentation highlighted world-class tourism resources, including Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, the giant panda habitat and newly recognized global geopark areas.
The programme noted that Aba is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze and Yellow River basins and serves as an important ecological security zone. It was stated that the region gives priority to the protection of rare national-level wildlife and plants, as well as natural heritage and biodiversity.
The event also showcased Aba’s distinctive culture, shaped by the coexistence of Tibetan, Qiang, Hui, Han and other ethnic communities. The presentation emphasized mutual respect, social harmony, cultural diversity, religious and humanistic heritage, and local lifestyles that make Aba a uniquely attractive destination.
The delegation further introduced Aba’s clean energy resources, strategic mineral potential, specialty agricultural and livestock products, improving transport infrastructure and investment-friendly environment. These elements, according to the organizers, present Aba as an open and promising region for international cooperation, tourism development and investment expansion.
Throughout the event, participating representatives from New Zealand showed strong interest in Aba’s natural, cultural and economic potential. According to the organizers, the Auckland promotional event has further strengthened the international image of “World-Famous Jiuzhaigou, Beautiful Aba” and opened a new chapter of friendly exchanges and cooperation between Aba Prefecture, New Zealand and the wider Pacific region.
