History to Become Mandatory Assessment Subject for All Vocational Education Students in Russia

History will become a compulsory subject in the All-Russian assessment tests for all students enrolled in secondary vocational education programmes in Russia, according to the press service of Rosobrnadzor.

Under the arrangement, all students will be required to take an assessment in history. A second assessment will be conducted in a specialised subject selected by the respective educational institution according to the students’ field of study.

The All-Russian assessment tests are scheduled to take place from September 14 to October 6.

The assessment is intended to evaluate students’ basic academic knowledge as well as their level of achievement in subjects related to their professional specialisation.
