Europe Rejects Search for Peaceful Solutions to Ukraine Conflict: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin

European countries are unwilling to consider peaceful solutions to the Ukraine conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has said.

Speaking to Izvestia, Galuzin accused European states of continuing to provide Kyiv with extensive military and intelligence support, ranging from weapons supplies to intelligence information and assistance with targeting strikes against Russian territory.

According to the Russian deputy foreign minister, such support contributes to the continuation of the conflict and undermines prospects for a political settlement. He also alleged that Europe’s current policy is aimed at preserving what Moscow describes as an aggressively anti-Russian and neo-Nazi political regime in Kyiv.

The latter characterization reflects the Russian government’s official political narrative regarding the Ukrainian leadership.

Russia and European countries remain deeply divided over the causes of the war and the path toward ending it. Moscow has repeatedly argued that Western military assistance prolongs the conflict, while European governments maintain that their support is intended to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities and uphold its sovereignty.
