The second Kathmandu Horror Film Festival (KHFF) will take place at the Russian House in Kathmandu from October 30 to November 1. The festival is organized by the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy.

As part of the festival, the Russian film Wind will be screened at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 31. Directed by Sergei Chliyants, the 124-minute film was released in 2025 and written by Pyotr Lutsik and Alexei Samoryadov.

Blending road-movie elements with magical realism and a poetic post-apocalyptic vision, Wind forms a thematic trilogy with Outskirts and Wild Field. The films explore life on Russia’s periphery during a time of upheaval. In Wind, fisherman Ivan sets out to return with his catch, but makes a choice along the way that changes his fate.

Chliyants is known for films including Bumer and The Tuner. Wind marked his return to directing three decades after his debut film, Straight Ahead (1992).

The film won the top prize at the Spirit of Fire festival and was named Film of the Year at the Nika Awards.

After the screening, executive producer Alexander Ostroverkh-Kvanchiani will meet with viewers and answer questions.
