Trump and Netanyahu Speak After Iranian Missile Attack

Jerusalem — U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Sunday after Iran fired missiles toward Israel in response to airstrikes in Beirut.

According to Israel’s state-owned Kan TV, the conversation took place as regional tensions were rising. However, neither Netanyahu’s office nor Trump’s office immediately issued an official comment on the call.

Before the phone conversation, Trump told Israel’s Channel 12 News that he would urge Netanyahu not to launch an immediate retaliatory strike. Trump said an Israeli counterattack could risk undermining ongoing U.S.-Iran ceasefire negotiations.

The Iranian missile attack and the subsequent phone call between Trump and Netanyahu have underscored the increasingly sensitive security situation in the Middle East. Washington appears to be emphasizing restraint and the continuation of diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

Following the incident, international attention has focused on Israel’s possible response, the future of U.S.-Iran negotiations and the broader implications for regional stability.
